Prof. B.N. Thaper ,Prof. A.K.Bhardwaj and Prof. Mrs. Paramjit Kaur lays special emphasis on  the artistic pursuits.

  v  The college won enviable  positions and made spectacular achievement in  Zonal Youth Festival held at B.A.M. Khalsa College,Garhshankar  2004 . Our folk dance teams ( Giddha, Bhangra)  w on First positions (a record in itself)

v     Miss Salinder Kaur got Third individual prize in Giddha and Mr.Jaspal Singh got Third individual prize in Bhangra.

v     Kavishree team got Third prize                                                                                           

v     Mr. Arjun Sood got First individual prize in One act play competition.                           

v     The drama team got Third prize.

v     Mr. Satnam Singh was awarded Third individual prize in Tabla (Percussion)

v     C reative writing team got Third prize.

            In addition to this the college regularly holds inter-class competitions so that the students achieve competitiveness and overall growth of personality.


[National Cadet  Corps]

National Cadet Corps: Boys of all classes can join the NCC unit if they have the necessary aptitude and physical fitness. Major Suresh Bhardwaj commands the NCC in the college.

An NCC cadet is required to attend the Annual Training Camp of the unit every year and undergo service training for a period of 65 hours or 96 periods of 32 parades during the academic session. In addition to this normal training, he may volunteer for further service training that the Ministry of Defence(The Government of India) or The State Government may sanction from time to time.

Each cadet is expected to use the uniform with care and respect. He will be liable to compensate for any damage to or loss of uniform.

[National Service  Scheme]

National Service Scheme: The NSS unit of the college has 200 seats for boys and 100 seats for girls. Membership is open to all students. They are required to put in 120 hours of work each.This is in the form of participation in the activities of the NSS. One day and ten-day camps are organised during the session.Prof Malkiat Singh, Prof. Mrs. Paramjit Kaur and Dr. Gurmukh Singh look after the affairs of the N.S.S. Units.  





[Societies &  Clubs]

Societies & Clubs : For the student's integral development and to promote creativity in them, the college has a number of societies and clubs. These include the English Literary Society,Commerce Society, Hindi Parishad, Punjabi Sahit Sabha, Planning Forum,  History Association, Political Thinkers' Forum, Environmental Society and Sports Council. Debate , Paper-reading and declamation contests, guest lectures etc. are frequently organised by these for the benifit of students.



[Career Guidance  Cell]

Career Guidance Cell : In order to enable the students to face the challenges of today's  competitive world, the college has launched a career guidence cell. Prof A.K.Berry (Dean)
Prof.A.K.Sood (Asstt:.Dean) have been appointed to help students to chart out their future. Under the aegis of this cell, very many distinguished management gurus and other experts are invited from time  to time to enlighten the students about various career opportunities available to them.



 

[Youth Service  Club]Youth Service Club : The college has a Youth Service Club that functions under the guidance of the Departmnt of Youth Welfare. Panjab University, Chandigarh. Boys as well as girls can seek its membership. The club is intended to cultivate the spirit of social service in the students. Its diverse activities include informative discussions and educative tours to places of historical and cultural importance  Prof A.K.Bhardwaj is the incharge of the Club  

 

 

          SPORTS:  Our college students participated in various games & sports organized by Sports Department, P.U. Chandigarh. They students got various positions in  Inter university, Distt. level and state level competitions in 2004.

2. Ruchika 2nd in P.U. inter-college judo competition,1st in distt. level competition and participated in state level judo competition.
3. Satnam Kaur 3rd in P.U. inter-college judo competition, 1st in distt. level competition and participated in state level competition.
4.Gurbir Singh 2nd in P.U. inter college boxing competition and also 1st in distt. level competition .
5. Neeraj Sharma 3rd in P.U. inter college judo competition .
