COMPARTMENT
CANDIDATES OF OTHER UNIVERSITIES;
A student of any other University who is placed in compartment in 1st year/ 2nd year of B.A, B.Com. Course will be not allowed to join the 2nd year/ 3rd year course of this University.
b)
COMPARTMENT CANDIDATES
OF +2 EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO B.A/B.Com-1st Year
CLASS:
A candidate who has been placed under compartment in the +2 examination conducted by a Board/Body/Council/University in India shall be eligible to seek admission to the 1st Year of B.A./B.com course under 10+2+3 system of education, provided he fulfills the following conditions: -
i. He should have been placed under compartment in one subject only;
ii. He should have obtained at least 20% marks in the subject in which he had been placed in compartment; and
iii. He should have obtained the requisite percentage of marks in the aggregate of the examination as laid down in the relevant regulations.
Provided that:
-
A candidate joining the B.A.1st /B.Com 1st year class should have obtained at least 33% & 40% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects respectively (including the marks obtained by him /her in the subject of compartment, Theory and Practical/s taken together) taken up by him /her at the +2 examination.
iv The students who have compartment in +2 class with less than 20% marks be also allowed to be admitted provided they have obtained 20% or above marks in the Supplementary examination up to the last date for admission. They shall be considered for admission to the next higher class provided they were eligible and subject to availability of seats
Students who have passed +2 examinations from recognized Open school are eligible for admission to the B.A./B.Com. 1st year course, only if their result is shown as PASS in their certificates issued by the said open schools and they have obtained the requisite percentage of marks prescribed under the University regulations for admission to the concerned course. In case their result has not been shown as “PASS” in the relevant column of the said certificate, they are not eligible for the said admission.
Change Of Faculty Or Subject
Change of faculty or subject will be allowed by the Principal under exceptional circumstances and that too within one month of the start of the session. The student will be required to deposit Rs. 50/- for this purpose. The parent or guardian of the student shall sign the application for the change of faculty or subject. All changes in faculty or subject sought by the students shall be at their own risk. The change must be intimated to the office and the teacher concerned. A student can not change over to the combination that is not provided in the college prospectus.

Proficiency Apart from the above
mentioned three subjects, a student may opt for ‘Introduction to Computer
Science’ as an additional/optional subject to be cleared within three
years of his/her stay in the college. The student offering Computer
Application cannot opt this subject. Note: Only those students will be allowed to opt for
History and Culture of Panjab who have not studied Punjabi in
Matriculation. |
B.A. 2nd
Year:
A student shall offer
those subjects which he/she studied in B.A.1st year. In
addition he/ she may opt for Honours course in Political Science,
Economics, English. |
B.A. 3rd Year: A student shall offer
all those subjects which were studied by him/her in B.A. 2nd
year. |
